ABOUT THE CAPTAIN

Picture
My name is Raiden Bresch! I have been a licensed sport fishing guide for 17 years, but have been fishing the coast of BC for more than 25 years. I live in the Comox Valley with my wife and family and have been settled here for almost 11 years.

My love of fishing started young, thanks to my father and older brothers, who are also fishing guides. Born and raised on the ocean, I grew up in the Stuart Island area, north of Campbell River and have worked for many elite fishing lodges in my lifetime, including:
  • Sonora Resort (2005-2009)
  • The Queen Charlotte Lodge in the Haida Gwaii (2010-2012)
  • The Clubhouse on Langara Island in the Haida Gwaii (2015)
  • Warm Springs Resort/The Ritchie Brothers Auctioneer’s Private Estate (2013-2016).

More recently, I have started a charter here in the Comox Valley, as the fishing on this part of the Island is not only busy, but the beauty of the landscape is unparalleled. Here, I’m able to take guests out locally in Comox, up to Campbell River, over to Hornby Island, and even up into the Stuart Island Area. I’m always up for an adventure and I’m open to teaching and demonstrating in a way that works best for you.

My qualifications and certificates include:
  • Small Vessels Operator Proficiency (SVOP) Certificate
  • Marine Emergency Duties (MED A3) Certificate
  • Level One First Aid and CPR
  • Marine First Aid Certificate
  • Radio Operator Certificate (ROCM)

My goal is always to provide my guests with a very exciting, safe, and productive fishing experience.

Looking forward to meeting you!

ABOUT THE LOCATION

The Comox Valley is one of the most beautiful places on earth!

I am lucky enough to fish here year-round and can take guests to a multitude of locations in search of a variety of fish species, including: Salmon, Ling Cod, and Red Snapper. Thankfully, the weather is sunny and calm during the summer months, providing a comfortable and unforgettable fishing experience. Peak season is typically June through September; however, many other months of the year are also fantastic for Chinook Salmon fishing.
